3. ASSEMBLY

This heater should be installed by a

competent person, i.e. a qualiﬁed electrician.

Always disconnected the heater from the

electrical supply and allow it to cool before

installation.

Installing the heater (Fig. A, C)

Always mount the device with the supplied

accessories.

Before starting the installation, take the following

into consideration:

• Place the device on a ﬁrm, level ceiling surface;

installation of the heater should be on a strong

rigid support (such as strong wooden beams or

metal rails etc).

• The device must be hung so that there is 50

cm of free space between the heater and any

ceiling, tent canvas etc. There must also be

at least 1.80 m between the ground and the

underside of the device. Refer to Fig. C. The

device can never be hung on a hook in the wall

as it could hang at a slant!

• The Hook used to hang the heater must be able

to take a weight 3 or 4 times that of the heater

itself.

• Ensure that the power supply cable is well

mounted and that it does not come into contact

with reﬂector of the heater or that does not trail

into heated area.

• Do not install the heater on an inﬂammable

surface.

• If the heater is to be used outside, a weatherp-

roof outlet is highly recommended.

• Before drilling ensure that there are no wires or

water pipes in the area where the heater is to

be installed.

To install the heater, follow these steps:

• The device is supplied with a hanging chain (1)

and two carbine hooks (4). Put a carbine hook

(4) on both ends of the chain (1).

• Mount one side of the chain onto the hanging

hook (3) using the carbine hook (4), as shown

on ﬁg. A.

• Provide an attachment point from which the

device can hang down freely and that is sturdy

enough to hold the heater without any pro-

blems. Fix it ﬁrmly in such a way that it cannot

drop, slip, slide or otherwise move.

• Attach the unused carbine hook (4) on the

heater chain onto the provided ceiling hook or

ceiling hanging eye.

• Take into account the minimum distances as

shown on ﬁgure C.

• Plug the patio heater into a grounded power

outlet. Check beforehand if the voltage rating
